Each lamp is made on the wheel with white clay which has a light gray colour before it’s fired and I painted them on the inside in six different colours.
After the biscuit firing the colour of the clay becomes a creme white.
I applied a layer of matt glazing and fired them a second time.
It takes about 9 hours to slowly heat up the kiln reaching 1020°C and about the same time if not longer to slowly cool it down again. Only then can you open the kiln and finally see what became of your original idea. Patience is definitely a good companion.
And now they are ready to find a beautiful home and to shine bright and colourful!
