As the days grow shorter and the year gently draws to a close, Christmas comes into sight. Some delight in preparing and decorating for this festive season, while others prefer to let it pass quietly. Either way, there is always the perfect time to get hands on clay and let creativity flow!
In the three upcoming Ceramic Workshops, we will shape unique Christmas and winter decorations, explore the world of angels – whether as simple ornaments or as personal sculptures – and finally, celebrate the human form in clay, capturing its many expressions and styles.
1. Decor to Hang – Design your own Christmas or winter decorations

We make mobiles or any kind of art decor you can hang from the ceiling, on a wall, in a tree or on your balcony.
On the first day we build decorative pieces of different shapes and sizes out of clay and after the drying and firing process we meet again to decorate the pieces with acrylic paints and assemble them with strings to create a mobile.
We can also combine them with pieces of different materials such as wooden sticks, beads, pendants, amulets or whatever you find suitable.
22/11/2025 Saturday, 10:00-13:00
7/12/2025 Sunday, 10:00-13:00 painting and putting together the mobile.
2. Sculpting your Angel – from simple ornaments to personal sculptures

In this workshop we create angels. After a short introduction into the subject and some examples of different kinds of sculptures we shape and model our own angel. This can be from simply decorativ to completely intuitiv and personal.
The finished angel sculptures will be dried and fired and will get that typical terracotta colour of the fired clay.
23/11/2025 Sunday, 10:00-14:00
3. Sculpting Figurines – human figures in diverse styles and expressions

This workshop is devoted to sculpting the human body. After a short study of proportions of the human body and some examples of different kinds of sculptures we shape and model our own figure. This is quite an open field from very realistic to completely abstract.
My intention is to help everyone find an idea, a pose and a way to sculpt a figure that suits his/her abilities and tastes and to support putting it into practice.
The finished sculptures will be dried and fired and will get that typical terracotta colour of the fired clay.
29/11/2025 Saturday, 10:00-17:00 We will have a break for lunch which I will provide.

In this workshop we transform an idea or an image that we like into a three-dimensional picture. It could be a portrait, a landscape, a plant or animal, a mandala or just anything that you can imagine. There are no limits! After the pieces are fired we will meet again and paint them with acrylics.

This workshop is devoted to sculpting animals – any kind of animals existing on earth, in dreamland or in our fantasy. This is quite an open field from very realistic to completely abstract.
Before we put the parts (bottom, sides, feet etc.) together we make decorative imprints with stamps or whatever can be used as stamps such as flowers, leaves, textiles, buttons, pen lids, just anything you can think of.
The subject of this workshop will be the human face. All levels are welcome. It is amazing how a lump of clay turns step by step into something almost alive….and it doesn’t matter how realistic nose, mouth, eyes are formed. They get their own life and expression anyway and turn into something very personal and unique.

We will learn step by step different techniques for building a lantern which can have almost any kind of shape. Once it’s built we can cut out patterns and shapes where the candle light will shine through.
