A new series of three self-contained Ceramic Workshops is awaiting you!
Workshop 1: Building a Relief Picture
In this workshop we transform an idea or an image that we like into a three-dimensional picture. It could be a portrait, a landscape, a plant or animal, a mandala or just anything that you can imagine. There are no limits! After the pieces are fired we will meet again and paint them with acrylics.
Here you can find pictures of some examples.
23/11/2024 Saturday, 10:00-17:00 with a break for lunch which I will provide.
7/12/2024 Saturday, 10:00-13:00 painting and finishing the relief.
Workshop 2: Mobile – Art Decor to Hang

We make mobiles or any kind of art decor you can hang from the ceiling, on a wall, in a tree or on your balcony.
On the first day we build decorative pieces of different shapes and sizes out of clay and after the drying and firing process we meet again to decorate the pieces with acrylic paints and assemble them with strings to create a mobile.
We can also combine them with pieces of different materials such as wooden sticks, beads, pendants, amulets or whatever you find suitable.
Here are some examples.
24/11/2024 Sunday, 10:00-17:00 with a break for lunch which I will provide.
8/12/2024 Sunday, 10:00-13:00 painting and putting together the mobile.
Workshop 3: Winter Night Lanterns

We will learn step by step different techniques for building a lantern which can have almost any kind of shape. Once it’s built we can cut out patterns and shapes where the candle light will shine through.
When the lanterns are dried and fired I will treat them with a white or a dark wash (as you prefer) which will leave visible the terracotta colour of the clay underneath. Then they get fired a second time.
Here are some examples.

There are many possibilities of different shapes and colours to design your own unique jar. I will show and explain step by step an easy way for beginners and also more advanced ways. On the first day we build and form the jars and the lids and on the following class we give our pieces a colourful coating with engobes which have to be put on before the first firing. After the firing I will glaze them with shiny or matt transparent glaze, whatever you decide for each of your pieces, and then fire them a second time.

February passed way too fast! I’m happy though that we got a lot out of the four Ceramic Workshops and the Pottery Class. It was again very inspiring and so much fun. Thanks to you all.
The series of workshops last November and December were a real treat to me. They let me finish the old year with a great feeling of satisfaction and gratitude. In the six independent workshops we worked with clay in many different ways – from simply playing and exploring the material, constructing and painting colourful jars with lids, sculpting the human body, scratching designs into white layers of engobe and modelling faces to finding the connection to our inner world through clay meditation. All together a vast spectrum of doing pottery. I tried to catch some moments with the camera. You can find the pictures in the
